On Interenet of Things Programming models

In this paper, we present the review of existing and proposed programming models for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The requests by the economy and the development of computer technologies (e.g., cloud-based models) have led to an increase in large-scale projects in the IoT area. The large-scale IoT systems should be able to integrate diverse types of IoT devices and support big data analytics. And, of course, they should be developed and updated at a reasonable cost and within a reasonable time. Due to the complexity, scale, and diversity of IoT systems, programming for IoT applications is a great challenge. And this challenge requires programming models and development systems at all stages of development and for all aspects of IoT development. The first target for this review is a set of existing and future educational programs in information and communication technologies at universities, which, obviously, must somehow respond to the demands of the development of IoT systems.

On Bluetooth proximity

In this article, we consider a service model based on network proximity and using Bluetooth. In this connection, we consider services based on the Core Bluetooth as well as services based on Bluetooth Low Energy. In particular, we present our vision on the applicability of Bluetooth Low Energy for positioning applications. This paper also provides specific models for Bluetooth network proximity based services and applications. The content of this paper generalizes our previous research articles in the field of network proximity and Physical Web and presents the experience gained during the implementation of a number of practical projects that use services based on network proximity.

Mobile Cloud for Smart Cities

This paper is devoted to mobile cloud services in Smart City projects. As per mobile cloud computing paradigm, the data processing and storage are moved from the mobile device to a cloud. In the same time, Smart City services typically contain a set of applications with data sharing options. Most of the services in Smart Cities are actually mashups combined data from several sources. This means that access to all available data is vital to the services. And the mobile cloud is vital because the mobile terminals are one of the main sources for data gathering. In our work, we discuss criteria for selecting mobile cloud services.
